New Johnson City Convention & Visitors Bureau website leverages new methods to promote tourism to Northeast Tennessee region
Johnson City, TN —The Johnson City Convention & Visitors Bureau (JCCVB) has launched a new website crafted for today’s consumers in search of a unique travel destination or place to live. The site’s new design is based on a strategy to provide deeper information for those interested in dining, nightlife, and niche experiences such as caving, waterfalls and much more in the region.
Whether for leisure, sports or a mountain adventure, the theme “Find Your Pace” offers insights into one-of-a-kind experiences that can be found with Johnson City as the hub.
“Our new, more advanced website incorporates new methods for engaging those in search of a great travel experience. It also invites those in search of relocating to our region permanently,” says Brenda Whitson, JCCVB Executive Director. “This new tool is great for building awareness of our region as a great place to visit, live and contribute to our shared success.”
Find Your Pace allows users to create their own personal account, then based on their input, curate their own custom itinerary for a visit. The “plan your trip” function will assure a richer travel experience once they arrive and assure that every tourism asset in the city, county and region is fully promoted.
The site was developed with mobile smart devices in mind. Whether by smartphone or tablet, potential visitors can easily browse trip ideas, explore key Johnson City destinations, learn about unique events and destinations, and browse an interactive calendar of upcoming events. There is also a directory of accommodations in the Johnson City area to match any budget or convenience needs.
The value of effectively promoting Johnson City and Washington County through the JCCVB is clear. In 2017, Washington County was among the top 10 counties in the state for visitor spending with $257.5 million in recorded travel expenditures, generating $15.44 million in state taxes and $6.01 million in local taxes. Nearly 2,000 people work in the tourism trade within the county.
“Johnson City is active and creative in promoting new experiences for visitors, and inviting those in search of a new home to move to our county and region,” explains Whitson. “We invite everyone to visit the new site and experience what we have to offer.”
