Albright College has been named a 2026-2027 Career Development College of Distinction for its four-year approach to student career readiness.

READING, Pa. – August 12, 2026 – A college degree has always been an investment in the future, but in today's labor market, a diploma alone is rarely enough. Students need institutions that actively bridge the gap between academic preparation and professional life. Colleges of Distinction is proud to name Albright College a 2026-2027 Career Development College of Distinction, recognizing its commitment to building that bridge with purpose and intention.

The distinction reflects the work of Albright's Experiential Learning and Career Development Center (ELCDC), which supports students from first-year orientation through graduation and into their careers as alumni through one-on-one career counseling, self-assessment tools, resume and cover letter reviews and mock interviews. Colleges of Distinction evaluated Albright on how well career services are integrated into the curriculum, how accessible those resources are to every student, and the strength of its dedicated career staff and employer partnerships.

“This recognition reflects something our students experience firsthand: career development at Albright isn’t a single office or a senior-year checklist. It’s part of the fabric of a student’s four years here,” Albright President Debra M. Townsley, Ph.D. said. “From the moment students arrive, we’re helping them connect their coursework, their research and their internships to the career they want to build.”

“The schools that do career development well don’t wait for students to come to them,” said Tyson Schritter, Chief Operating Officer at Colleges of Distinction. “Albright College meets students where they are early, consistently, and across every field of study. That kind of proactive investment in student futures is what this recognition is built to honor.”

Albright's career development approach follows a four-year framework that meets students at each stage of their journey. First-year students focus on access, identifying their interests, skills and values while developing personally and professionally through Albright's student organizations. As sophomores, students shift into decision-making, meeting one-on-one with a career counselor and building early experience through job shadowing. Juniors sharpen their focus by gaining hands-on experience through internships and exploring graduate and professional school options. In their senior year, students turn to the work of seeking, setting post-graduation goals and building the professional network that will carry them into their careers.

“Albright has built something that many institutions still treat as aspirational: a career center that students actually use,” Schritter added. “Because it meets them early, stays consistent, and connects their coursework to their futures in ways that feel relevant, not obligatory.”
