About the kebab industry:

The kebab industry is a major sector within the hospitality industry and so is an excellent barometer of the impact of Covid on restaurants and takeaway outlets over the last 12 months and their response to the lifting of restrictions. There are currently around 20,000 kebab outlets throughout the country, selling more than 1.5m kebabs across Britain every day, supporting around 200,000 jobs and bringing in more than £2.8billion a year to the British economy. Due to the roots of the sector, many employees are of Kurdish, Turkish, Greek, Lebanese, Armenian and other backgrounds.
