Costa Navarino and Mouratoglou To Serve Up Secrets of Global Tennis Icons This Summer

GREECE / AGILITYPR.NEWS / May 21, 2021 / Programs and experiences at the new Mouratoglou Tennis Center, opening June 9th

Adults and juniors have the chance to train like global tennis stars at Costa Navarino this summer, as the prime sustainable destination in the Mediterranean has teamed up with Patrick Mouratoglou, the long-term coach of 23-time Grand Slam champion Serena Williams and mentor of Greece’s world number five Stefanos Tsitsipas, to launch the first European Mouratoglou Tennis Center.

With 12 brand new floodlit courts including clay, hard and natural grass courts, professional and amateur players can combine leisure and top-class training from June 9th with dedicated programs and experiences, under the instruction of experienced and Mouratoglou trained coaches during their stay at The Westin Resort Costa Navarino and The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, both located at Navarino Dunes.

Players of all levels from the age of 14+ can work and improve specific skills, their technique or tactics by taking part in dedicated tennis clinics, while private or group lessons are ideal to maximise personal performance, available for all levels for guests aged six and upwards covering in-depth aspects of the Mouratoglou Academy’s philosophy. Beginners, intermediates or experts aged 10+ seeking the ultimate test can ‘Challenge the Pro’ for an hour of head-to-head contest with one of the top coaches.

Guests seeking a fun and more energetic learning experience can burn excess calories and exercise to music at one of the weekly cardio tennis sessions, available to those aged 16+. Other competitive social tennis experiences on offer include the scheduled ladies’ morning or men’s night mixed doubles matches.

Available from this autumn, the Mouratoglou Signature Tennis Camps for adults and children will cover everything from technique and tactics to fitness. The camps are the ultimate introduction to tennis in a playful yet structured environment and will be organised into two age groups – eight to 14-year-olds and upwards. They will be bookable on a two or five-day basis including accommodation options.

Finally, the UTS Nights, are interactive tennis tournaments for a more competitive playing experience, for those aged 10+ starting with a minimum group of 8 guests or up to 32 players including multiple matches, draw and medal ceremonies.

Off the court, players can enjoy access to the latest tennis equipment, apparel and accessories at the center’s fully stocked tennis pro shop. A tennis racquet-stringing service is also available, with equipment hire on offer for guests looking to rent courts on an individual basis.

Located in the southwest Peloponnese, in Greece, the new Mouratoglou Tennis Center’s state-of-the-art facilities, paired with the all-year warm climate and views of the Ionian Sea, provide a one-of-a-kind destination for the burgeoning international tennis community.

Costa Navarino is a natural outdoor haven for sports enthusiasts and active families, with additional activities including two 18-hole signature golf courses - The Dunes Course and The Bay Course – an outstanding golf academy, mountain and road cycling and a range of watersports including sailing, kitesurfing, windsurfing and kayaking.
