UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / December 04, 2025 / International entrepreneur and philanthropist Fareed Nabir has been officially appointed Co-Chairman of the Telesio-Galilei Academy of Science (TGAS), a global scientific association headquartered in Switzerland and dedicated to advancing open inquiry, rational discourse, and the pursuit of scientific truth. His appointment was formally confirmed in a letter from Founding Father Francesco Fucilla, who said the Academy is "delighted" to have him on board.
Founded in 2007, TGAS supports scientific creativity and the free exchange of ideas without economic or political influence. The Academy places strong emphasis on encouraging research that pushes beyond conventional thinking, particularly in fields such as physics, chemistry, biology, and emerging scientific disciplines where innovation often challenges established paradigms.
Each year, TGAS honours exceptional scientists whose work has demonstrated extraordinary merit, recognising contributions that expand the boundaries of understanding and address global challenges.
As Co-Chairman, Fareed will work closely with TGAS leadership and affiliated institutions worldwide to promote scientific openness, support groundbreaking research and strengthen international collaboration. The Academy’s mission is in line with Fareed’s long-standing commitment to innovation, education, and humanitarian progress across his diverse portfolio of ventures.
Speaking on his appointment, Fareed Nabir said, “Science moves forward when ideas are allowed to breathe, to be tested, debated, and even disagreed with. The Telesio-Galilei Academy of Science has always championed this spirit of openness, and I am honoured to contribute to its mission.
“In every field I work in - from energy to frontier technologies and education - I have seen how scientific thought can transform lives and nations. This role allows me to support the global scientific community while ensuring that Bangladesh becomes an active contributor to the world’s intellectual progress.”
Fareed’s appointment follows a series of impactful initiatives. His venture Asteroids Mining LLC aims to position Bangladesh at the forefront of space technology development, while Nabir Vectrance Global delivers world-class consultancy across the energy sector, aligning Bangladeshi projects with international engineering and sustainability standards.
Through the Nabir Foundation, he is also constructing an orphanage for women and girls in Sylhet - providing education, care, and vocational training to some of the region’s most vulnerable communities.
His work with TGAS will not only champion the principles of open scientific exploration but also reinforce Bangladesh’s growing role in international academia, research, and innovation.
