Grand Rapids, MI- A rare chance to visit a country which is off limits to most Americans will be experienced by visitors to Jack Kenny’s photo exhibit beginning November 21, 2019 in Grand Rapids.

Michigan native Kenny is author/publisher of the award-winning coffee table book, Cuba (120 hard cover pages, $65, Corazon Press, Ann Arbor, MI, ISBN 0-9768349-0-1), a unique photographic collection of the island country and its people. In the book and at the exhibit, Kenny takes readers and viewers on a photographic journey through modern day Cuba.

Jack Kenny is a free-lance photographer living in Ann Arbor, MI. In 1996 he took his first trip to Cuba and has returned more than 75 times, first to work on the web site http://www.Cuba-Photo.com which has approximately 4000 pictures of Cuba, and then to work on a B&W photo exhibit of Cuba. In addition, he is a dealer in Cuban photography and art, including the work of the famous Cuban photographers, “Korda” and Osvaldo and Roberto Salas.

Kenny has been lecturing on Cuba for the past 25 years.

Prior to the Cuba project, Kenny’s work was primarily studio photography, specializing in B&W nudes. He has exhibited in galleries in southeast Michigan and had his first one man show dedicated to the nudes in Havana, Cuba in February of 1997.

Transitions… Cuban Art and Photography The show will include original prints from Jack Kenny's award-winning book of modern day life in Cuba as well as color images from his recent trips to the island. Featured local artists include Keemo & Maggie Bandstra.
