HollieGuard and Flare Reporting Integration: A New Era in Personal Safety

UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / August 12, 2024 / HollieGuard, the UK’s leading personal safety app, is thrilled to announce its integration with the Flare Reporting APP. This powerful merger aims to enhance reporting capabilities for Domestic Abuse (DA), Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), and anti-social behaviour, providing users with a seamless and comprehensive safety solution.

How the Integration Works:

Users of the HollieGuard APP can now easily anonymously report incidents of DA, VAWG, and anti-social behaviour directly through the integrated Flare Reporting feature. This addition not only simplifies the reporting process but also ensures that all reports are swiftly routed to the appropriate authorities for immediate action.

Case Study Highlight:

A recent case underscores the importance of this technology. In November last year, a woman used HollieGuard to alert authorities when her violent partner attacked her. The app's panic button activated a rapid response, alerting emergency contacts and transmitting live footage to Southern Monitoring Services and Humberside Police. This quick coordination led to the victim's rescue and the attacker's arrest. The evidence captured by HollieGuard was crucial in securing a 22-month prison sentence for the perpetrator.

Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner Jonathan Evison praised the app, stating, "The partnership with HollieGuard is one of many interventions to help protect anyone who may be vulnerable, and I am pleased that in this case, it led to a successful prosecution."

Key Features of the Enhanced HollieGuard App:

  • Journey Tracking: Ensures safe travel by updating emergency contacts on the user's movements.
  • Duress Pin: Allows users to discreetly signal for help.
  • Incident Detection: Detects impacts and non-movement, triggering automatic alerts.
  • Meeting Timer: Sets alerts for meetings in unfamiliar areas.
  • 24/7 Monitoring: Provides round-the-clock support from a police-approved response team.
  • Evidence Capture: Records audio and video evidence admissible in court.
  • Mask Mode: Disguises the app as a calculator or weather app for added security.

Nick Gazzard, founder of the Hollie Gazzard Trust, commented: “While we are horrified that our user went through such a traumatic ordeal, it is a source of immense pride that our app was instrumental in ending a violent attack and led to the arrest of the perpetrator. With over 600,000 downloads, we are proud to provide a tool that not only protects but also contributes to a greater cause - combating violence against women and girls.”
