Great Place to Work® reveals UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Women 2019
Great Place to Work ® UK, the leading employee experience consultancy has released its annual UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Women awards list. Unlike many other awards list, Great Place to Work ® comprehensively audits the practices that create a great workplace culture for women as well as surveying employees’ views.
The latest research shows that although 2019 has seen the highest recorded level of female employment at 71.8%, women are still experiencing unfair practices including unconscious bias, unequal pay and under-representation in senior management positions.
The organisations on the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Women list have introduced policies and programmes that foster development and empower women to grow their careers. Great Place to Work® UK’s managing director, Ben Gautrey said: “What our Best Workplaces™ for Women clearly shows is the positive impact their practices have on business. As a result, they are better able to attract and retain women of talent, encouraging them to develop professionally and personally and in turn contribute exponentially to the success of the organisations they work for.”
Insights from this year’s Best Workplaces™ for Women list:
Best Workplaces™ for Women
This year’s ranking of Best Workplaces™ for Women ranges from major brands such as Gap, Hilton, Admiral, Home Group, SAP and EY to smaller organisations including garment manufacturer Rowlinson Knitwear and pharmaceutical market research specialists Branding Science UK Ltd. Ranked No.1 in the Super Large, Large, Medium and Small categories are Mars UK, The Sovini Group, Impact and McCarthy Recruitment respectively. Both The Sovini Group and McCarthy Recruitment took the No.1 spots in our inaugural 2018 Best Workplaces ™ for Women list, demonstrating their continued commitment to gender-neutrality in the workplace. Encouragingly, the ranking also includes a number of organisations in typically male-dominated industries such as IT and construction. You can see the full list here. This year we have also published the 2019 Women at Work report which includes key insights, data and people practices from ranked organisations.
We hope our 2019 Best Workplaces ™ for Women’s list and insights report will help to advance the discussion and inspire organisations to take action.
