UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 29, 2019 / Unite the union is to hold a meeting for MJ Ventilation workers at the union’s office this Thursday (31 October) following the loss of more than 50 jobs last week. The company which is based in Coupar Angus, Perthshire, also has sites in Edinburgh and Aberdeen blamed the job losses on ‘bad debts’. The company manufactured and installed ventilation systems.
WHEN: Thursday 31 October at 17:00 p.m.
WHERE: 110 Blackness Road, Dundee, DD1 5PB.
The session will include information for workers about how to claim unpaid wages, securing redundancy pay and a legal claim called a protected award. All workers are invited to attend including non-union members. Workers may also be entitled to claim for a failure by the employers to carry out collective redundancy consultation.
George Ramsay, Unite regional industrial officer, said: “Unite is holding a drop-in session this Thursday (31 October) at our office in Dundee as part of our efforts to provide as much support for all workers affected by the substantial job losses at MJ Ventilation across Scotland. We would encourage workers to attend our session in Dundee so that we can provide as much advice and support as possible.”
