UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / August 25, 2026 / After 15 years working in Early Years settings, local mum Laura Sutton knew she wanted a change - but she wasn’t ready to leave behind the part of the job she loved most.

This September, Laura will take over Baby Sensory Yate, bringing her experience of working with young children into a role that gives her the chance to support local families with the popular parent and baby classes, while creating a better balance around her own family life.

A mum of two girls, Laura has spent much of her career in nurseries, gaining first-hand experience of how important the early years are in shaping children’s development. However, she reached a point where she wanted to step away from the nursery environment while still doing what she enjoys: working with children and building relationships with families.

Her own experience as a parent helped her realise that Baby Sensory offered exactly that opportunity. Laura regularly attends classes with her youngest daughter and saw for herself how much they offered both babies and parents.

Laura said, “I know how much I enjoy taking my daughter to Baby Sensory each week, and I wanted other parents to have that same experience. It’s not just about the activities - it’s about having that special time together, meeting other parents and being part of something supportive.

“I loved working in Early Years, but I wanted a role that gave me more flexibility while still allowing me to do something I’m passionate about. Baby Sensory feels like the perfect balance. I get to work with children, build those relationships with families, and create something of my own.”

Laura discovered the opportunity after speaking with Tasha, the previous class leader of the Baby Sensory sessions she attended. While taking on a franchise was a big decision, she felt the timing was right and decided to take the next step.

What stood out to Laura was the thought and expertise behind every Baby Sensory session. Unlike many baby groups, where activities may simply provide entertainment, Baby Sensory classes are carefully planned around babies’ development, with new experiences introduced each week.

“The lesson plans are incredible,” Laura said. “Every activity has been carefully thought through, and there is always something different for families to enjoy. It’s not just toys being put out and letting children play - there is a real purpose behind everything we do.”

As she prepares to welcome her first families, Laura hopes to build a strong local community around Baby Sensory Yate and create classes that parents look forward to attending week after week.
