UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / March 22, 2021 / At 12.15 on Tuesday March 23rd Two RAF Hawks from IV(AC) Squadron, based at RAF Valley in Anglesey, will carry out a flypast over Coniston water to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of speed legend Donald Campbell CBE.
As they fly past, Donald Campbell’s daughter will place a bunch of flowers on the lake to pay her respects to her father and mark the occasion.
You are invited to send a reporter and or photographer to this event and film crews are welcome.
This will be a socially distanced memorial event and Strict Covid regulations will be enforced. The public are not invited to this private event
Timetable:
11.30: Please report to the Coniston Institute LA21 8DU You will receive a press release and a briefing about where you will be able to film or photograph the commemoration
11.55: Everyone in place adjacent to and on the National Trust Gondola Jetty which is adjacent to the Coniston boating centre. Lake Rd, Coniston LA21 8AN
1215: Flypast
12.30: Gina Campbell available for interviews about the commemoration. Weather permitting these will be held outside in the vicinity of the Bluebird Café/Coniston Boating Centre with Trustees from the Ruskin Museum. If not, socially distanced interviews will be held at the Ruskin Museum.
Notes:
The RAF will have photographers on the ground and footage will be available from the aircraft. These will be issued on Tuesday afternoon by the RAF.
