UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 22, 2026 / Stockport families with young children will be able to continue enjoying Reading Fairy classes as Liv Harrison takes over the local franchise from today, 22 October. A parent herself, Liv knows what the sessions offer from first-hand experience: both her children attended classes and developed a love of reading and storytelling along the way.
Liv works as a Senior HR Business Partner in the technology sector, but early years education has always appealed to her. When the opportunity came up to take over the Stockport franchise, she was keen to make sure other local children could enjoy the same experiences as her own.
“I'd always wanted to do something in early years, and Reading Fairy was already a part of our family life. My children loved going to the classes, so when I heard the franchise was available, I didn't want to see that opportunity disappear for other families. I wanted to keep it going and give more children the chance to discover how much fun books and stories can be,” she said.
Reading Fairy classes introduce young children to phonics, language and storytelling through songs, activities and picture books. Sessions change each week, giving little ones something new to look forward to - while helping them develop skills that will come in useful when they start school. Parents and carers join in, too, sharing the experience with their children and meeting other local families.
For Liv, taking over a franchise she already knows as a parent is a very different prospect from starting an unfamiliar business. She has also been getting to grips with the practical side of the role, including training and assessments.
“I've really enjoyed learning about the history of Reading Fairy and getting involved in the practical assessments. There's a lot to take in, but it's exciting to think about the classes from the other side and what I can bring to them,” she said.
Her immediate priority is to give existing families a warm welcome and maintain the standard of teaching and enthusiasm they have come to expect. Further down the line, she hopes to reach more children across the Stockport area by expanding the programme into other parts of the territory.
“I'd love to welcome more families through the Reading Fairy doors,” Liv added. “Whether your little one is already mad about books or is just beginning to explore them, the classes are a lovely way to discover stories, have fun with phonics and make new friends along the way.”
