LONDON, UK / AGILITYPR.NEWS / April 13, 2021 / ROCKIN’ ROMANS MINI ADVENTURE GOLF
Verulamium Park, St Albans
Rockin’ Romans Mini Adventure Golf has opened in Verulamium Park, St Albans. Formerly trading as Verulamium FunPlay, the new Roman-themed golf brings fun and active entertainment for all age groups.
Following four successful years the Verulamium Park attraction is now offering more for the whole family; from the pre-teen age group to those looking for activity to keep or gain their health and fitness into their retirement years. The extremely popular trampolines remain, and these are now joined by Rockin’ Romans, the new 9-hole Roman-themed golf activity.
Having opened on 29th March following the lifting of lockdown restrictions for outdoor leisure, Rockin’ Romans is already attracting a much wider demographic of local visitors and tourists, whilst retaining its core customer base of those who enjoy a bounce on the trampolines. The holes themselves are the first of their type in the UK, and fitting with the Roman history of the park, the course has been themed with items including Roman soldiers.
Verulamium Park is the most visited park in Hertfordshire and welcomes visitors from around the UK and overseas. With a new playground in place, museum, café, splash park and an array of Roman heritage, and just a short walk from the City centre, Rockin’ Romans offers another fun activity for all ages.
Owner of the business Warren Heal, commented: “With the ever-increasing popularity of adventure golf in the UK, we decided now was the time to offer an activity for a much wider age group. Many people passing ask if we have something for older age groups, including the retired, the teenage and above age groups, and now we have. Our trampolines have been a huge success and are staying, and we will continue to work with local schools and the SEND community for children who enjoy the sensory benefits of trampolines.
Park visitor numbers are rising, and with everything that Verulamium Park has to offer, our new Rockin’ Romans Mini Adventure Golf attraction offers something extra not only to families but to the wider community”.
Linda (retired, from Cuffley) commented: “It was great to be able to meet with some friends again in St Albans. We often walk down to Verulamium Park and were delighted that there was this new fun activity Rockin’ Romans for us to do. The golf was perfect for us. I was also so pleased to see how well managed the whole site and organisation was, particularly at this current time.”
Ed (father, from Harpenden) commented: “Myself, my wife and our 3 boys were looking for things to do over Easter. Having seen Rockin’ Romans advertised on Facebook we took a trip down to the park. It was good piece of competitive fun for us all and great to have something new to do locally. We will be going back!”
Rockin’ Romans opened on 29th March and will be open daily until 5th September (from 10am to 5pm plus some late-night opening during the summer), after which it will be open weekends and school holidays.
