Romany Youell, 22, Is Shortlisted for Rising Star Category at Women's Recognition Awards 2024

UNITED KINGDOM / AGILITYPR.NEWS / August 01, 2024 / At just 22 years old, financial adviser Romany Youell has been shortlisted for the prestigious Rising Star category at the Women's Recognition Awards 2024 - one of the most coveted in the mortgage industry.

The Women's Recognition Awards celebrates excellence and aims to inspire a collective drive towards an inclusive and progressive industry. Being shortlisted at such a young age is an impressive achievement in itself - but no one who knows Romany is in the least surprised!

Her journey into the financial industry began at the age of just 11, when she accompanied her mortgage broker father on client visits. By 16, she had completed her mortgage exams and started advising clients on mortgages and protection. Recognising the need for comprehensive financial advice, she advanced her career and, in 2020, she became the youngest person to qualify as a Financial Adviser in the UK after earning her Diploma in Financial Advice from Quilter Adviser School.

Ahmed Bawa, CEO at Hampshire-based Rosemount Financial Solutions (IFA), says, “Romany is a remarkable young professional who has already made significant strides in our industry. Her dedication to her clients and addressing wider industry issues, particularly advocating for women’s inclusion, is truly inspiring. I am confident the financial services industry will soon recognise why Romany is deserving of the Rising Star award.”

Throughout her career, Romany has dedicated herself to expanding her knowledge, gaining experience, and building connections to better serve her clients. As the sole Financial Adviser at NeedingAdvice.co.uk, a family-run business, she manages all financial planning needs for new and existing clients. In 2023, her efforts were acknowledged when she was named the first Financial Adviser of the Month in the Unbiased Appreciation Scheme.

She says, "As a 22-year-old adviser at the start of my career, I am excited about my future. I have only scratched the surface of what I can achieve, especially in promoting gender equality in the financial services industry. Winning this award would recognise my efforts so far and push me to make even greater strides in championing inclusivity and empowering more women to join and thrive in this industry."
