SGS Explores New Saudi Arabia Conformity Requirements for Brazilian Poultry Exports

BAAR, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / September 17, 2026 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, reports on the Saudi Food and Drug Authority’s (SFDA) introduction of mandatory certificate of conformity (CoC) requirements for poultry and poultry products exported from Brazil to Saudi Arabia.

An important destination for Brazilian poultry exports, Saudi Arabia is Brazil’s third-largest export market, with imports increasing by 7.1% in 2025 compared with the previous year.

The article focuses on new export requirements that became effective on April 1, 2026, and form part of the SFDA’s food conformity assessment framework, introducing an additional compliance step for Brazilian poultry exporters and other supply chain stakeholders.

The certification process must be incorporated into regular export procedures to support continued market access, with all applicable shipments required to undergo conformity assessment and obtain a CoC in accordance with relevant SFDA requirements.

Also included in the article is a checklist for exporters and advice on navigating the applicable requirements to help stakeholders understand and prepare for the new conformity assessment process. SGS is an SFDA-approved Certification Body that supports companies throughout the certification process and issues CoCs in line with the applicable SFDA framework.
