SGS expands Kuwait PCA service scope
GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / June 13, 2025 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published an article highlighting its expanded role as an approved provider of specialized inspection services under the Kuwait Public Authority for Industry (PAI).
Businesses can now benefit from a wider range of product conformity assessment (PCA) services. SGS supports companies in navigating the Kuwait Conformity Assurance Scheme (KUCAS), offering vital services such as issuing technical inspection reports (TIR), performing physical inspections and conducting product testing and conformity verification. The expanded scope of regulated products now includes electrical appliances, lubricants, toys and food contact materials. Additionally, detergents and cleaning products are now included under the following regulations:
- Powder detergents: KWS GSO 151:2023
- Liquid detergents: KWS GSO 2555:2022
The introduction of the Energy Efficiency Rating (KW EER) is especially significant for manufacturers, sellers and importers trading in Kuwait. SGS is an approved certification body for this conformity assessment regulation, which now covers the following product categories:
- Rotating electrical machines (KWS 1897:2023)
- Electric clothes dryers (KWS 1898:2023)
- Electric clothes washing machines (KWS 1899:2023)
- Refrigerators, refrigerators-freezers and freezers (KWS 1900:2023)
