BAAR, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / October 08, 2026 / SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, is delighted to host a complimentary webinar, ‘Children's Sleep Safety: EN 16781:2026 and Other Textile Childcare Updates’ on October 29, 2026.
Ensuring the safety of sleep environments for babies and young children is central to the European Committee for Standardization’s (CEN) work on the updated standard EN 16781 – Textile Child care articles – Safety requirements and test methods for children's sleep bags to be used in a cot. Originally published in 2018, the 2026 revision introduces changes that businesses placing these products on the European market need to understand.
Expert SGS presenter Valérie Cimetiere will guide attendees through the revised standard, including its updated structure, key changes and retained requirements. The webinar will also provide an overview of the European General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) and its relevance to other textile items used in children’s sleeping environments, such as quilts, footmuffs and angel nests. A Q&A session will provide attendees with an opportunity to explore specific questions.
This webinar is aimed at manufacturers, brands, retailers and suppliers importing or selling textile articles for use in children’s sleeping environments on the European market. It will take place on October 29, 2026, at 10:00 am Central European Time.
Stakeholders should register now to secure their place at this informative webinar.
