BRIDGEPORT, W.VA. / AGILITYPR.NEWS / April 17, 2026 / Steptoe & Johnson PLLC is pleased to announce that two of its attorneys, Timothy McKeen and Amy Smith, have been selected by the West Virginia Bar Foundation Board of Directors as 2026 Bar Foundation Fellows. The honor is given to attorneys whose professional, public, and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and honorable service to the legal profession.

McKeen is the Chair of the firm’s Energy & Natural Resources department and serves clients from the Wheeling, WV office. He previously served as the department’s Assistant Chair, led the Mineral Title & Property practice group, served on the firm’s Executive Committee, and was the Office Managing Member for the Wheeling office. He practices energy law throughout the Appalachian Basin, with a focus on title, due diligence, and mineral acquisitions.

Smith is the Team Leader for the Litigation department’s Appellate team and practices in the Bridgeport, WV office. With over 35 years of litigation experience, Smith focuses her practice on appellate, business, energy, first-party insurance, and class action litigation. She has extensive experience in both state and federal courts and serves clients across a range of industries.

The West Virginia Bar Foundation began its recognition of Fellows in 1999. McKeen and Smith join 29 other Steptoe & Johnson attorneys who have been selected as Fellows.

The West Virginia Bar Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations that engage in programs and activities to improve the administration of justice and to educate citizens about their rights and responsibilities under the law in West Virginia.
