TUCSON, AZ / AGILITYPR.NEWS / August 03, 2026 / TFCU volunteers led hands-on money lessons for “A” Camp participants ages 5 to 14 across four sessions this summer
Tucson Federal Credit Union (TFCU) partnered with the University of Arizona’s Department of Campus Recreation this summer to bring age-appropriate financial education to campers enrolled in the university’s “A” Camp program.
Robyn Austin, TFCU’s Community Impact Manager, and Katie Mckeever, TFCU’s Human Resources & Community Impact Specialist, led four 50-minute sessions across two camp weeks — June 16 and 17, and July 28 and 30 — reaching approximately 322 campers, ages 5 to 14, plus a group of camp Counselors in Training ages 12 to 14.
Each session introduced campers to money concepts suited to their age group, reflecting TFCU’s ongoing commitment to financial literacy for Southern Arizona youth.
The partnership was made possible with the help of Cori Rodriguez, a TFCU Board Member who also serves with University of Arizona Campus Recreation, and who helped connect TFCU with the university’s youth camp team.
"Financial literacy is at the heart of everything we do at Tucson Federal Credit Union," noted President and CEO Matthew Gaspari. "We were founded by local educators, and empowering the next generation with smart money habits is a tradition we proudly carry forward."
TFCU plans to build on this year’s sessions with continued youth outreach in Pima County schools and community programs throughout the year.
