GENEVA, SWITZERLAND / AGILITYPR.NEWS / February 14, 2020 / Turkey has announced which consumer products must comply with the inspection protocols associated with its Risk-Based Control System on Foreign Trade (TAREKS).
On December 27, 2019, the Turkish Ministry of Trade published Communiqué on Import Control of Consumer Goods (Product Safety and Inspection: 2020/12) (of December 27, 2019 under Number 30991 (Repeat), henceforth known as the Communiqué. This communiqué contains, among other provisions, a list of consumer products subject to the requirements under TAREKS - a web-based system for carrying out import and export controls on a risk basis and required by trade legislation.

Stakeholders should be aware the provisions of the Communiqué came into effect on January 1, 2020. This repeals the previous Communiqué on Import Control of Consumer Goods (Product Safety and Inspection: 2019/12) published under Number 30641 (Repeat) dated December 30, 2018.
