Dave Brodie, one of the country’s most successful touring car racers has entered these two Ford Sierra Cosworths in the H&H Classics Duxford auction on 20th March.
They were sourced by the Surrey team of H&H John Markey and Chris Marshall.
Brodie is well known for his series of Escorts and Sierras, all named 'Run Baby Run', building them at his company BBR in Brackley, in close association with the Ford Works Motorsport division.
The white racing Sierra Cosworth estimated at £55,000 to £60,000, was built by Brodie Britain Racing with all the latest equipment and boasts a T4 turbo engine with Intercooler. It was constructed from a new Ford Motorsport shell in 1990, but due to other commitments has only been raced nine or ten times by Dave’s son James. It currently produces around 500bhp but fuel, water and breather systems can handle up to 600bhp. It has been seam welded with foam filled cavities, BBR suspension, BBS wheels, stainless exhaust.
The red road car, estimated at £24,000 to £28,000, was built specifically for Brodie as his own car, but due to a run of ill health and other time constraints it has not been used much.
Chris Marshall of the Surrey H&H Classics team, says: “Dave did drive this road car for a trip to Padstow in Cornwall to visit Rik Stein, and it has now covered 900 odd miles in total. A truly exceptional road car or 'track day' car.”
The Red road car was built for the personal use of Dave Brodie and is fitted with complete RS500 body kit except for lower boot panel wing. It has four wheel drive and runs a modest 265BHP on small injectors but could easily have 365BHP says Dave Brodie.
